Walsall RE Agreed Syllabus Launch

RE Today introduces the changes to the revised Walsall Agreed Syllabus.

A clear introduction to syllabus changes with practical examples, focusing on embedding the three knowledge pillars in daily RE practice.

This session will introduce the key changes and developments within the syllabus, clarifying what they mean for classroom practice. Teachers will explore practical teaching examples aligned with the three knowledge pillars, with a particular focus on “ways of knowing” and how this knowledge type can be meaningfully embedded in everyday learning. The event will provide both clarity and concrete strategies to support confident and effective implementation.

The launch will be split into a primary session on 28 April 2026 from 9:30am - 12:30 pm and a secondary session from 1:00pm - 3:30pm

The morning session is for primary schools will include:

  • Introduction to the changes
  • Developments in teaching and learning: ways of knowing
  • Practical strategies and resources for deepening learning in RE

The afternoon session is for secondary schools will inlcude:

  • Introduction to the changes
  • Applying a religion and worldviews approach
  • Applying ways of knowing and disciplinary learning
  • Practical strategies and resources for deepening learning in RE
    This is a FREE event for schools in the Walsall area.
