  • To introduce teachers to the extensive Understanding Christianity resources and its teaching and learning approach
  • To deepen teachers’ understanding of core theological concepts, and a ‘big story’ of the Bible, connecting with original artwork (the frieze)
  • To develop teachers’ application of disciplinary thinking in RE, with a focus on theological and hermeneutical methods
  • To demonstrate strategies for engaging pupils with reading and interpreting texts
  • To see how the resource and the approach build strong foundations with 11-14s for later examination success.
  • To understand how the Understanding Christianity resource connects with a religion and worldviews approach and the National Content Standard
