This engaging and supportive course introduces participants to Understanding Christianity– a highly respected and widely used resource currently used in over 7,000 schools.

Delivered across six modules over three sessions, the course provides opportunities for teachers to explore the structure, theology and pedagogy that underpin the resource. Participants will become familiar with the core concepts at the heart of Understanding Christianity, and explore how these concepts can support pupils in making connections across biblical texts, Christian living and Christian belief.

Alongside exploring the resource materials themselves, the course will highlight a range of practical teaching and learning strategies designed to help pupils engage thoughtfully with Christianity and to develop their knowledge. The training is suitable both for schools implementing Understanding Christianity for the first time and for schools wishing to refresh or deepen their existing practice. Alongside the training sessions themselves, GAP tasks ensure that Understanding Christianity can be well taught in your school’s context.

Attendees will receive access to the full Understanding Christianity suite of resources for use within their school.
