This course covers the training needed for an RE Adviser to become and accredited Understanding Christianity Trainer. At the end of the course you will receive:

  • A full pack of Understanding Christianity materials
  • Understanding Christianity trainer materials
  • Accredited Trainer status (including access to online resources and the ability to promote your UC courses via the UC website)


Please note: to become accredited you MUST complete both Day 1 and Day 2. Materials and online access codes are only issued after Day 2 is completed.

If you have already completed Day 1 as part of a previous Diocesan Adviser training you can book directly for Day 2. In this case, please specify on the Booking Form whether you attended your Day 1 training in York or London.

Understanding Christianity is a new comprehensive training resource offering a clear and coherent approach to teaching Christianity in RE.
Understanding Christianity is based around a selection of core Christian concepts and structured across the age range (Early Years Foundation Stage to Key Stage 3), to help you support pupils in deepening their understanding of Christianity.

THE AIMS OF UNDERSTANDING CHRISTIANITY
• to enable pupils to learn about and understand Christianity as a living world faith by exploring core theological concepts
