Who is it for?

The conference is aimed at teachers of RE from primary schools, including subject leaders and head teachers. It will also be valuable for governors to find out about and explore best practice in RE.

The workshops offer a range of immensely practical strategies, exploring:

  • Workshop A: A1. Ways of knowing, A2. RE 4-7: using good learning
    experiences and tasks to build children’s understanding of religions & A3. RE in small schools
  • Workshop B: B1 Where, how and why do people worship? B2. Writing well in RE 7-11 examples from 4 religions & B3. How can non-religiousness be part of RE?
  • Workshop C: C1. How can non-religiousness be part of RE?Teaching about Islam and Muslims, C2. Teaching about Muslims: making progress from 5-11 & C3. Data on religion: what is really going on?
