A huge congratulations to you all!

If you are a winner, or the parent/guardian/teacher of a winner - well done! We will post your prizes and certificates out to you, and contact you if we need to check any details beforehand.

Please accept our apologies for the late announcement. As you know this year has been difficult for everyone and that has been no exception for our small team, with lots of pressure on our time and resources. We are sincerely sorry for any inconvenience this has caused, and are grateful for your understanding.

We would like to thank everyone who took part for taking the time and trouble to enter work for the competition at such an unusual and challenging time. For lots of pupils this was set as a piece of work to do during the national lockdown in summer term. The whole team at NATRE were impressed with not only the quality of the artwork we received, but also the excellent RE and deep thinking that was evident in the entries sent in to us. We are so pleased that this competition continues to give children and young people the opportunity to explore and express their personal worldview, and showcase their subject knowledge through creativity.

We were delighted to hear from pupils, parents and teachers how much everyone enjoyed working on their entries. Many pupils amazed their parents with what they produced and had lots of big conversations at home about their understanding of a variety of religious and non-religious worldviews, and the world around them.

There were 5 themes this year, all attracting very large numbers of entries – none more so than ‘God’s Good Earth’, which had such a high volume of excellent work that we found it extremely difficult to pick our winners. This theme really showed the passion that young people have for protecting our environment. Our future is in very safe hands!

We estimate that over a staggering 65,000 children and young people took part in the competition, and we would like to thank them all, and their teachers and parents for the insight, hard work and spiritual thinking that went on.

Many teachers write to us each year to share experiences of the competition: it has an impact on standards, depth, creativity and enjoyment in RE for pupils aged 4-19. Judging, as always, was a tremendous challenge, and we have awarded 30 prizes. The winning students receive:

  • Individual entries - £20 Amazon voucher & certificate
  • Paired entries - £10 Amazon voucher each & certificates
  • Group entries (bubbles, class or whole school) – we will provide the school with funds to arrange a suitable prize

Certificates are available to download here for FREE for everyone who entered. Due to the nature of this year’s competition with thousands more entries coming from both school and home addresses, we are unable to send printed copies out to everyone who entered.

You can see all of our fantastic winners and the full range of commended entries in our online galleries, as well as viewing previous years winners.

Next year’s competition details are also available now, including some new themes for you to respond to with your creativity. We look forward to seeing your work next year!

Finally, from everyone at NATRE – THANK YOU! Looking through all of your wonderful entries and hard work over summer and autumn has been a real highlight for us. Wishing you all a well-deserved break over the Christmas holidays.

Stay safe!
