National RE and the Arts Symposium

The Lincoln Diocesan Board of Education (LDBE) is curating a national arts and RE symposium to be held in Cambridge on the 8th July 2020. This event is being held with the support of Culham St Gabriel’s Trust.
The Symposium is the first of its kind in the UK to bring RE teachers, creatives and policy makers together to specifically focus on the potential impact of creative processes on the development of religious and worldviews literacy. It has at its heart the experiences of LDBE, whose devising and delivery of the REConnecting Lincolnshire project over the past four years resulted from the identified need to address significant concerns and frustrations from schools and their wider communities in relation to religious and worldview literacy. As a result, LDBE entered into an innovative programme of creative and cultural engagement with artists, schools and their wider communities.
The Lincoln Diocesan Board of Education and Culham St Gabriel’s are extending an open invitation to teachers, artists and RE specialists.
Gillian Georgiou, RE Adviser at LDBE said, ‘Thanks to the support of Culham St Gabriel’s the Symposium is offering 80 delegates free places on a first come, first served basis. The Symposium is an ideal opportunity to invite colleagues and potential partners and stakeholders in support of your vision for securing improvements in our communal understanding of religion, worldviews and the impact of belief on people’s lives’.
