Julie Childs, National RE Adviser

Why RE?

I am an enthusiastic RE scholar and experienced classroom practitioner who is committed to collaboration, further developing good practice within RE and to shaping the quality of provision in RE for colleagues in the wider RE community. My passion is to enthuse and inspire others through training, support, advice and high quality resources to empower them to develop their own skills as RE teachers or subjects leads, helping to ensure high quality RE for pupils that the work with.

Years experience

29 years teaching experience across the whole of EYFS, KS1 and 2. Worked in a large urban MAT-RE, English, Science lead. Worked in small, rural MAT school. RE SMSC, BV, Phonics lead, ITT lead mentor.

In-school experience

I have taught in different 11 – 18 schools in the North West of England and have been a Head of RE and Sociology, Curriculum Leader for RE and PSHE and also a senior leader in an 11 – 18 school with responsibility for timetable, personal development and curriculum.
