RE Today’s team of RE specialist advisers undertake a wide variety of consultancy roles e.g. working with Local Authorities, Dioceses, SACREs, individual and groups of schools and academies, government agencies, professional associations and commercial organisations. They also write and edit our own curriculum publications.
Rosemary Rivett, Director of Education
Rosemary is Director of Education and leads RE Today Services’ team of specialist RE advisers. She has written for and edited our best selling publication A Teacher’s Handbook of RE and the Developing Secondary RE series, and writes for our current primary and secondary curriculum series. She has experience of managing small- and large-scale projects, and supports the work of a local authority through SACRE consultancy and school-focused work. She has a particular interest and expertise in developing the use of ICT to support learning in RE.
Rosemary is also Executive Officer of NATRE and in this capacity represents our teacher members in a variety of national contexts. She is a Director of the Council for Subject Associations, and of the RE Council for England and Wales.
Before working for RE Today Rosemary taught in three local authorities, leading successful RE departments and taking responsibility for a variety of cross-curricular developments.

Lat Blaylock
Lat is editor of REtoday magazine and has written many RE resources published by RE Today, including Picturing Easter, Tackling Tough Questions, Picturing Jesus and Spiritual Engagement, a folder of ideas for 16-19 RE days. He taught RE, Humanities and PSHE in Leicester for 11 years.
Since joining RE Today Services his work is wide-ranging and varied, and includes advising teachers, schools, SACREs, Dioceses and Local Authorities. His CPD training courses attract several thousand teachers every year, covering themes from poetry, art and creativity to assessment, 8 levels scaling and curriculum planning. He also runs day conferences for gifted and talented pupils and for 16-19s.

Fiona Moss
Fiona is a primary specialist. Before joining RE Today Services as RE Adviser she was a primary teacher for many years and more recently the RE and SACRE Curriculum Adviser for Leicester City. She has overseen the development of its locally agreed syllabus and non-statutory guidance, as well as being involved in training teachers in its implementation. She also specialised in SEAL, Literacy and Gifted and Talented.
She has written and edited a variety of publications designed to support RE teachers, both locally to support an agreed syllabus and also for commercial publishers. She is currently the editor of RE Today’s Opening Up Primary RE series and has co-written Body & Soul, a relationship education resource for 9-11year olds.
Fiona is also a long-standing and active member of NATRE, and is well-known in this context for her support of local groups of teachers, and her involvement in a variety of consultations and initiatives at a national level.

Stephen Pett
As an RE Adviser Stephen provides training and consultancy internationally and supports the work of RE in two local authorities through SACRE consultancy and school-focused work. He writes for and edits RE Today Services’ RE curriculum series, Questions in RE, and contributes to a range of our other publications.
Before working for RE Today Services Stephen was a secondary Head of RE for many years, and an Advanced Skills Teacher. He was Chair of his local SACRE for nine years and actively participated in the development of its locally agreed syllabus and non-statutory guidance, as well as being involved in training teachers in its implementation. His AST post included working with schools in all aspects of teaching and learning, including creative task setting, active learning in A-level RS, developing ICT, particularly through video conferencing and innovative use of tablet PCs, and promoting spiritual development.
He has been involved in a project with Oxford University applying the findings of neuroscience to teaching and learning, and the link between RE and well-being is a continuing interest.
