A Humanist discussion of ...  Euthanasia is short document (downloadable as pdf) from the British Humanist Association. It is useful for those who are looking for non-religious viewpoints on euthanasia.  It includes definitions of key terms, the legal position, argumens for and against and some quesitons to provoke thought and discussion.

Classroom suggestions:
a) Ask students to read the document and highlight the key terms used e.g. the double effect, slippery slope, the right to life. Create a glossary of terms for their revision notes.

b) Students work in pairs to identify and justify an response to the question: ‘What connections might there be between a person’s views on euthanasia and their beliefs about life after death?’
