Consultancy contract
Posted by: Rosemary, 05 January 2012
As part of its strategic plan, the RE Council is proposing to initiate a review of religious education in England to run alongside the government’s review of the National Curriculum.
The REC wishes to appoint a consultant to carry out a scoping exercise for such a review. This would set out the parameters of a review in terms of timing, coverage and management, consulting with the subject and wider community and so on.
The task would be expected to take no more than five days’ work and a fee of £1000 would be paid (on a seconded or self-employed consultancy basis). The audience for the report would be the REC Board and its Curriculum Assessment and Qualifications Committee; however the report would also need to be useable with potential funders in clarifying the nature and extent of the task.
The closing date for applications is Monday 16 January. The appointment will be made by Monday 23 January and the scoping report would have to be completed by Weds 22 February, with full payment on completion. People should only apply if able to complete the work within this timescale.
Please send a CV with accompanying letter stating in not more than one page any successful previous experience of similar work or other reasons why you think you could undertake this task successfully.
Applications should be sent to naomi@religiouseducationcouncil.org by 1 pm on the closing date.
