GCSE Religious Studies: success in an hour a week
Course Date: 07 June 2013
Aims of the day
This one-day course for all who teach GCSE RS will enable teachers to add imaginative,
innovative and exciting learning to the syllabus requirements for GCSE in ways that build up
students’ learning skills.
A range of philosophy, ethics and religion-based topics, referring to Islam and Christianity, will be demonstrated. Delegates will receive 10 ready-to-use classroom examples that showcase a range or learning methods suited to setting high standards in GCSE. The day will be practically focused on the learning needs of GCSE RS students, and will recognise the fact that many teachers tackle the short course in only an hour a week. Planning for success in short teaching time will be addressed.
