Course Date: 20 November 2013
Aims of Day
This dynamic and inspiring one day course is for heads, RE subject leaders and other interested teachers to consider how they can improve pupils’ spiritual, moral, social and cultural development. There will be a focus on how primary schools can respond creatively to Ofsted’s new 2012 inspection requirements for SMSCD and an opportunity to ask questions about how the ethos and values of the school promote it for 4-11s. The day aims to give teachers confidence to maximise the opportunities for spiritual development; an area some find difficult to provide pupil opportunities for.
The day will provide many fully resourced ready-to-use practical classroom activities. Whilst many examples will reflect Religious Education, the wider curriculum will also be reflected in the training as SMSCD is a whole school priority.
