Paul is based in Gloucestershire, and is a primary specialist.
He has taught across the primary age range, most recently in a church school context, with responsibility for RE and Collective Worship. He has wide experience in both key stages and an enthusiasm for Key Stage One, and asserts that: if you can make something work at KS1 you can adapt it to work at any age.

successive agreed syllabuses. He has led workshops for RE teachers in a variety of contexts to
encourage effective teaching of an agreed syllabus, and engagement with and enjoyment of the subject
by young learners.
Paul has a particular interest in how children learn within RE, and his recent Farmington Fellowship
explored the potency of talk within primary RE and identified ways in which dialogue can increase
engagement, release creativity and mobilise meaning.
Paul has written for a variety of publications, including RE Today, and has starred in the Teachers
